PROLOGUE

Sitting on the wedding altar, the priest chanted mantras. Everyone was focused on the bride and groom, who sat as still as statues. Neither moved an inch and why would they when their lives had already taken the world's wildest 180°?

How?

Let me- interrupted

The sound of snapping fingers

Everything paused. The story was on pause because someone wanted to say something.

Wait!!

Wait!!

Wait!!!

"Hey, it's me!!"

It was none other than the bride who lifted her veil and looked at the author with a sour expression.

"Sorry, but not sorry! Author, you're writing this story, so let me at least have a one-sided chat with your readers!" she insisted.

The author looked at her in disbelief and sighed

The bride turned to the imaginary readers—

"Ek toh ye 'Bride' mat bolo, ajeeb lagta hai," she complained to the author.

TUM BEECH ME INTERRUPT KARNA BAND KARO PEHLE!!!  Author shouted

"Whatever" she rolled her eyes.

"Anyways, Hie, It's me... Ishika!!" She grinned.

"She drew stars around my scars? Author, please! I am not interested in this marriage at all... and no way am I drawing on his body. That's so childish!" She pulled a face.

Author glared

"You must be curious if I am so uninterested in this marriage then, why am I marrying? Because my life is no less than a Wattpad story! For me, I am the main character of my life! Toh Ab, Main character banungi, to life lagayegi bhi to extra, jese abhi hi dekh lo..."

She pointed at the groom, "I'm getting married! Who is he? I have no idea! I haven't even seen his face, God!!" She tried to turn her head toward the groom, but the author, who still held the power, wouldn't let her.

Don't ruin the story, Ishika.

"I'm making it interesting! Am I not?" she asked the reader.

Finish your little talk show or I'll throw in even more drama in your life... because here, I make the rules. Tight lip smile

"Fine! So yes! The author has zero mercy on me. She made me delusional but poor. Loaded me with trauma and family drama, and on top of that, gave me short-term memory loss so I forget half of my trauma! I can't even cry about it because my serious situations also turn into funny. But that doesn't mean I'm always happy or that I don't have real problems! My bank balance is my problem, and my habit of bakchodi (silliness) is my biggest enemy!"

"Am I a joke to you author?" Ishika said, finally losing it.

Yes.

"I hate You" She pouted.

Author ignored her

"Someone, please tell the author to stop turning my life into a rollercoaster! I have no hope with this marriage where we end up like the films. I'm done already! Bye!"

Snapped

Ignore her guys, she is cracked.

This is the story of Ishika Gupta who belongs to a middle-class family, their family is the same as every Indian household, filled with lots of ups and downs, plenty of family drama, trauma, and entertainment. Ishika is a carefree girl but not careless, She is hardworking and knows her worth, She works hard to help her family financially, She has a lot in her mind that she never shared with anyone. For everyone, she's just the cute, jolly Ishika whose life seems perfect.

But here's a secret: People are not what they show. People who laugh the most are the ones hiding the most.

Meanwhile, We all know our favourite Veer, our tragic hero. You all know him—the guy whose life got completely messed up by that one court case that shattered his family's reputation. The Veer who used to be the life of the party, hasn't smiled in ages. He was once like Ishika, carefree and joking around, living his best life But then everything changed, He distanced himself from everyone, and His teenage still haunt him. His life turned into black-and-white melodramatic 50s movies until He got married. The guy who decided to not go close to the female species, he was scared of them, came back home married. Everyone was shocked, the guy who became distant from his own mother and sister, came back married. That too a girl who is completely stranger.

Will they end up together?

Will Ishika bring back the old Veer?

Will his family ever accept Ishika?

What will Ishika do when she learns about Veer's dark past?

What will Veer do when he discovers Ishika's childhood trauma?

Will he ever learn to love her?

Will he ever stop being terrified of her?

Our dear Veer is not a baby anymore, but seeing him sad is just too much, so I've decided to gift him a human 'sootli bomb' as a bride.

Let's see if They end up together.
